Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports the quality and food safety programs in our production facility. This role is responsible for verifying controls, completing documentation, following up on corrective actions, and supporting compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards. This position works closely with production and quality teams and consistently demonstrates respect, honesty, inclusion, and a strong commitment to safety.
Essential Job Duties

Complete pre-shipment reviews and lock runs in Redzone.

Verify metal detector checks and ensure they are properly documented.

Follow up on pre-operational reports to confirm other departments have logged and completed corrective actions.

Record and initiate corrective actions when issues are identified.

Immediately report any issues that may impact food safety or product quality, including concerns raised by hourly employees.

Follow and help enforce company safety rules, GMPs, behavioral expectations, and other policies outlined in the employee handbook.

Review and verify quality paperwork and complete disposal records.

Complete icing/mixed icing traceability sheets daily.

Provide daily support to Quality Technicians and fill in during absences as needed.

Upload data to box printers and help ensure correct coding/labeling.

Quarantine items on hold or requiring further investigation.

Oversee rework to ensure it is performed correctly and documented.

Attend production huddles to communicate quality issues and share updates from the QA team.

File SQF documents and other quality records as needed.

Perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (e.g., Food Science, Biology, Quality, or similar).

Working knowledge of HACCP requirements and procedures.

Supervisory or lead experience at the plant or production level preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Willingness to pursue/achieve SQF Practitioner certification.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
-
Occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Comfortable working in a production/warehouse environment (temperature, noise, etc.).
