The Role
We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who's eager to take ownership early, solve problems on the shop floor, and grow with the company. This is a great fit for someone in the early-to-mid stage of their career who wants real responsibility fast and can drive results with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do
- Improve, design, document, and implement standardized manufacturing processes and work instructions
- Troubleshoot production issues on the floor in real time, working directly with operators
- Diagnose root causes of quality or efficiency problems rather than just addressing symptoms
- Source tooling, equipment, and vendors as needed to solve problems
- Develop and refine work instructions, tooling, and fixtures to improve efficiency and quality
- Support new product introductions from design through production
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, cycle time improvement)
- Collaborate with quality on defect reduction and process control
- Train and coach the production team on new processes so they're followed consistently on the floor
- Own projects end-to-end with minimal hand-holding
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Required: prior experience working in a manufacturing environment — metal fabrication or structural steel strongly preferred
- Comfort being on the shop floor, not just behind a desk
- Strong problem-solving instincts and a bias toward action
- Ability to read and mark up technical drawings/specs (CAD literacy a plus)
- Required: experience implementing and managing manufacturing processes and documentation (work instructions, SOPs, quality records)
- Comfort with root-cause problem-solving tools (8D, CAPA, FMEA, or similar) a plus
- Demonstrated track record of identifying and fixing problems without being asked
- High motivation, low ego — willing to dig in and figure things out
