Action is hiring a Financial Accounting & People Operations Manager to anchor our internal finance, payroll, and HR functions. This role blends accuracy, structure, and people-centered operations to keep our team running smoothly.We’re looking for someone who can bring calm order to complexity, can see around corners, and can create workflows that support a healthy, functioning team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead month-end and year-end close
- Manage AP/AR, invoicing, reimbursements, and vendor payments
- Handle payroll in Gusto, reconcile entries, and track PTO/leave
- Maintain titles, rates, and multi-state compliance
- Administer benefits and open enrollment
- Support onboarding, offboarding, policy updates, and performance processes
- Coordinate 401(k) onboarding, submissions, and compliance
- Manage insurance, vendors, and the company-wide inbox
- Foster a culture of clarity, inclusion, and psychological safety, where operational rigor and humanity coexist together
What You Bring
- 3–5 years in bookkeeping, payroll, HR, or people operations
- QuickBooks fluency and confidence with journal entries
- Experience with 401(k) plans and multi-state compliance
- Strong attention to detail and structured communication
- Self-directed and comfortable owning processes end to end
Nice-to-have: Experience with Gusto, Slack, Notion, Google Workspace.
