Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency with various accounting software, and experience working within corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting environments. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting compliance with GAAP standards, and providing reliable financial reports to assist in strategic decision-making.
Duties
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as M1
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll functions
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting activities
- Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and financial analysis tasks
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and applicable regulatory requirements
- Manage double entry bookkeeping processes including debits & credits and account analysis
- Support tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of transactions
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles - college students are encouraged to apply
- Proficiency with accounting software, M1 or a similar software
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial concepts, and technical accounting practices
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to bookkeeping activities is a plus
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately and prepare detailed financial reports
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
