Job Overview
This position supports a high‑volume water infrastructure initiative focused on locating and exposing lead and copper water service lines and water meters. The work is part of essential system upgrades and regulatory compliance efforts that directly improve community water systems. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role involving repetitive, production‑driven tasks performed outdoors in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist vacuum excavation and utility crews with exposing lead and copper water service lines and water meters for upgrade and compliance projects.
- Perform general labor duties related to construction, underground utilities, and utility infrastructure work.
- Operate or support vacuum excavation and hydrovac equipment under supervision, following all safety and operational guidelines.
- Maintain consistent productivity and accuracy in a high‑volume, fast‑paced work environment.
- Safely complete repetitive, production‑focused tasks throughout the workday.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices at all times.
- Take direction from supervisors and collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production targets.
- Maintain dependable attendance and work overtime as needed to meet project demands.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through clear communication, cooperation, and field‑based problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in general labor, construction, utilities, underground utilities, or field work preferred but not required.
- Exposure to vacuum excavation, hydrovac operations, or utility work is a plus.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morganton, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
