Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Product Quality Leader Electrical with a strong background in automotive electrical systems and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to oversee and drive the quality assurance efforts. The successful candidate will support the Quality Customer Satisfaction team at the Greensboro, NC site. The team ensures product quality performance through investigating and prioritizing market product quality issues. The Product Quality Leader will secure the voice of the customer in problem-solving processes through investigation and knowledge management. This role demands high levels of product/commodity knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work with global colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and field service networks. The role is specifically dedicated to the electrical commodity, responsible for achieving product quality goals and metrics for fault frequency and warranty costs.
Responsibilities
- Actively search, detect, and quantify customer quality issues at an early stage via enhanced analytics.
- Prioritize quality actions related to electrical components to achieve committed quality targets for assigned products.
- Lead, analyze, and report on Diagnostic Trouble Codes related to electrical systems, focusing on identifying patterns, understanding customer impact, and ensuring proper quality-solving methods are assigned.
- Search for rapid containment actions and recommend appropriate quality-solving tools for identified field issues.
- Initiate, coordinate, and prioritize quality actions within design, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing.
- Communicate effectively in written and oral forms to support presentations and reporting on product quality investigations.
- Check the effectiveness of implemented quality-solving solutions.
- Request external campaigns based on technical descriptions and present at the External Campaign Committee.
- Identify potential safety-related issues upon receiving field reports/claims and communicate with the Safety Investigator.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5 years of automotive industry experience
- Proficiency with data analysis and general knowledge of statistics and statistical concepts
- Dependability, reliability, and teachability
- Experience in aftermarket activities and support
- Cross-functional team leadership or project management experience
- Judgement abilities for prioritizing issues and adding value for both customer and brand
- Ability to quickly gain credibility and establish positive relationships/networking
- Business and customer focus (internal and external)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fluent in the English language
- Ability to occasionally travel domestically and/or internationally
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with product quality and warranty issues related to electrical systems/components
- Proficiency in Excel for managing data sheets
- Experience in the heavy equipment or aerospace industry (preferred)
Work Environment
This position is based at the corporate center at the Greensboro Headquarters. Employees typically arrive between 7:30-8:00 am, but there is flexibility in arrival time. The role requires five days a week onsite work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
