We are searching for a Transportation Engineer to join our team!
Description
- Design and manage large-scale roadway projects.
- Review and approve designs for regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate technical content and ensure quality delivery.
- Meet with clients to understand and plan for project needs.
- Oversee project consistency, efficiency, and quality control.
- Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, and contract documents.
- Conduct field assessments and document existing conditions.
- Support proposal development and attend industry events.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, providing technical guidance and career development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Illinois DOT projects.
- Expert knowledge of IDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, and Guidelines.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Excellent technical writing with the ability to develop work plans and document technical discussions required.
- Successful multidisciplinary team/task management or design lead experience.
- Proficient in 3D and 4D Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software and techniques
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Familiar with industry design standards such as AASHTO and NACTO
