Job Description
Join a dynamic team where you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of roadway construction projects. Your main tasks will include developing and maintaining project documentation, inspecting and evaluating construction work, and ensuring adherence to codes and regulations. You will also provide daily reports and collaborate with team members to resolve any issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective documentation throughout the project, including daily reports with photos.
- Inspect, monitor, and evaluate construction work to ensure compliance with all relevant codes, ordinances, and project specifications.
- Review and interpret plans, blueprints, and schematics to ensure construction is in compliance with legal and safety regulations.
- Evaluate construction materials such as concrete, aggregates, pavements, and soils, measuring dimensions and elevations against blueprints.
- Observe and evaluate construction activities for conformity to contract documents.
- Utilize standard inspection tools such as measuring tape, smart level, and metering devices to perform inspections.
- Provide feedback on findings and collaborate with others to resolve issues.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report any unsafe conditions to a supervisor or management team.
- Continuously identify and prevent safety, health, and hazard concerns on construction sites.
Essential Skills
- 4 years of experience in roadway/transportation construction inspection.
- Proficiency in monitoring and documenting compliance with construction codes and regulations.
- Ability to evaluate construction materials including concrete, pavement, and soil.
- Experience with concrete, soil, and asphalt testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to travel across the US and Mountain West regions for project needs.
- Relevant inspection certifications such as erosion control, OSHA 10, CDOT basics, and Traffic Control.
Work Environment
This position involves working on-site at various locations, observing the construction of roadways. You will be part of a growing company with a significant backlog of CDOT work and a recently opened Denver office to support additional CDOT regions. Proper attire, including personal protective equipment, is required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
