Job Title: Safety Manager - Transmission Line Construction Project
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee a T-Line construction project in Rayville, LA. This role involves managing safety standards and procedures, ensuring compliance among subcontractors, and contributing to the successful completion of a key project for a major utility client.
Responsibilities
- Drive, maintain, and implement safety standards and procedures for subcontractors.
- Coordinate and oversee field operations to ensure safety compliance.
- Ensure adherence to construction documents and QA/QC protocols.
- Collaborate with project management to align safety practices with project goals.
- Report on safety metrics and incidents to project stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Experience in electrical distribution, power delivery, and substation construction.
- Must hold at least one safety certification such as CSST, COSS, CSP, OHST, CHST, CUSP, COSM, OSHA 510 or OSHA 511.
- Proficient in project management and construction management.
- Strong skills in safety, electrical, and transmission project management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a lineman transitioning to safety management is preferred.
- CUSP certification is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with reporting and documentation practices.
Work Environment
The role requires working in the field, coordinating subcontractor crews. Expect to work over 50 hours per week with substantial overtime during peak construction periods. Per diem is provided for work that requires travel, up to 7 days a week. Holidays and PTO are offered, with a billing structure in place for vacation time. The work environment is dynamic, with opportunities for future projects due to a growing presence within the utility sector.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
