  • Perform traffic analysis using transportation modeling software to assess existing conditions, analyze traffic patterns, and forecast future operating conditions.
  • Prepare clear, well-structured technical reports, memoranda, presentations, and proposals that summarize methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to identify transportation needs, constraints, and feasible solutions.
  • Participate in public meetings, hearings, and presentations to communicate project findings and recommendations in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Support the design and analysis of traffic signals, traffic control strategies, and roadway operations as part of broader transportation planning efforts.
  • Utilize CADD and related tools to support the preparation of figures, exhibits, and concept plans for traffic and transportation projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams across multiple offices to share expertise, review analyses, and ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery.
  • Contribute to parking and transit planning efforts, as needed, to support comprehensive transportation and mobility solutions.
Essential Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning, including traffic impact studies and traffic analysis (candidates with at least 1 year of relevant consulting experience will also be considered).
  • Hands-on experience conducting traffic impact studies and trip generation analyses.
  • Proficiency with traffic analysis software such as HCS, Synchro, and VISSIM.
  • Experience with or knowledge of CADD software (such as CAD/AutoCAD) for preparing transportation-related drawings and exhibits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis, documentation, and presentation preparation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, model results, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical documents and presenting information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, multi-office project team.

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience with SYNCHRO in addition to other traffic analysis tools is highly desirable.
  • Background or coursework in transit planning, parking planning, or multimodal transportation planning is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a transportation or traffic consulting firm environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in community improvement, safety, and sustainable transportation solutions.
  • Motivation to pursue continued education, professional development, and relevant certifications with company support.
  • Ability to effectively engage with public agencies, private developers, and community stakeholders.
