Job Description
We are seeking a Technologist Trainee in Toxicology who will utilize LCMS, HPLC, and UPLC instruments. This role involves working with liquid and gas chromatography to support drug testing processes. The trainee will take samples from lab assistants and process them on chromatography machines to identify substances. Reviewing results and maintaining instruments are primary objectives.
Responsibilities
- Operate LCMS, HPLC, and UPLC instruments for sample analysis.
- Perform liquid and gas chromatography to support drug testing.
- Process samples from lab assistants to identify substances.
- Review results and ensure accuracy in testing.
- Maintain instruments and ensure they are in working order.
- Manage a high volume of testing, responsible for two instrument lines.
- Load instrument lines and verify that results are accurate.
- Bachelor's degree (BS preferred, BA accepted) in life science - chemistry or biology.
- Prior experience with spectrometry or chromatography.
- Ability to explain spectrometry or chromatography processes if lacking hands-on experience.
- Professional or academic lab experience.
- Experience in toxicology is preferred.
- Understanding of mass spectrometry.
- Experience in high-volume testing environments.
The work schedule includes training on a Monday to Friday night shift for approximately three weeks, followed by a Tuesday to Saturday shift. The lab offers a coffee bar for night shift employees and is located near a 24-hour quick check for breaks. This is a contract position, with potential for permanent placement. Employees have opportunities to grow into other departments. The company is renowned for its excellent trainers and leadership. Attire is professional.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
