Job Description
The technician assists with the modification, fabrication, assembly, operation, installation, repair, and maintenance of general laboratory, experimental, and commercial equipment. This role involves setting up and conducting routine experiments and tests, as well as recording data. The technician is also responsible for assembling and installing simple laboratory equipment and apparatus.
Responsibilities
- Modify, fabricate, assemble, operate, install, repair, and maintain general laboratory, experimental, and commercial equipment.
- Assist in setting up and conducting routine experiments and tests, and record data.
- Assemble and install simple laboratory equipment and commercial apparatus.
- Operate lab and experimental equipment to collect data.
- Clean, adjust, and replace parts on lab and experimental equipment.
- Set up and check out routine experiments and tests according to pre-arranged procedures, and record experimental data.
- Observe all laws, regulations, and obligations related to business conduct.
- Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools.
- Ability to perform a variety of routine tasks.
- Good working knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Experience with troubleshooting and mechanical tasks.
- Familiarity with schematics, oscilloscopes, and test equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications related to the field.
- Willingness to work on systems with unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, cryogens, or radioactive materials.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite at the Tupelo, MS facility. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour shifts each day. The technician is expected to adhere to a professional dress code and work in a safe manner according to established operating procedures.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shannon, MS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
