Supplier Quality Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical)
Overview
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to serve as the primary interface between Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Procurement/Sourcing teams. This role is responsible for driving supplier identification, capability assessments, and qualification activities while ensuring adherence to quality standards and enabling the introduction of new mechanical and electrical technologies into the supply base.
You’ll play a key role in building a robust, global supplier network that delivers high-quality, cost-effective components.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to support supplier-related activities
- Lead supplier identification, evaluation, and qualification processes
- Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits, and performance evaluations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Support product and process qualification for new and existing suppliers
- Develop and implement supplier quality standards and best practices
- Partner with suppliers to improve performance, reduce defects, and enhance manufacturing processes
- Manage supplier development projects across global teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Support sourcing strategies by ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective supply base
- Facilitate issue resolution and corrective actions with suppliers
Products & Technologies
This role supports a wide range of components and technologies, including:
- Gas turbine components
- Electrical equipment and systems
- Heat exchangers
- Castings and machined components
- Piping systems and assemblies
- Advanced manufacturing processes (coating, welding, pipe joining, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Procurement
- Hands-on experience qualifying suppliers in one or more of the following:
- Casting, machining, coating, welding
- Pipe fitting/joining
- Electrical systems or advanced manufacturing
- Strong experience with:
- Supplier audits and capability assessments
- Product and process qualification
- Supplier development initiatives
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Experience working in cross-functional and global team environments
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading projects or initiatives across virtual/global teams
- Knowledge of industry quality standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.)
- Exposure to aerospace, energy, or heavy manufacturing industries
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 35–50% (domestic and international)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

This is a Permanent position based out of Katy, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.
