Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will lead critical supplier processes to improve Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance. You will participate in Whiteboard reviews and Variability Reduction Team meetings, resolving external supplier process warranty concerns. You will support QR procedures, assist with non-responsive suppliers, and ensure data accuracy in Parts Per Million (PPM). You will also coordinate part quality confirmation for suppliers with repetitive failures and lead containment of special-cause supplier projects. Aligning with Variability Reduction Team on Supplier Process issues, you will provide early notifications to the STA Site team on potential Stop Shipments and support accurate root cause reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead critical supplier processes to drive Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance improvement.
• Participate in Whiteboard reviews and Variability Reduction Team meetings.
• Drive resolution of external supplier process warranty concerns.
• Support QR procedures, review threshold QRs, and assist in QR Dispute resolution.
• Assist the Incoming Quality department with non-responsive suppliers.
• Ensure data accuracy in QR/PPM (Parts Per Million).
• Coordinate part quality confirmation process for suppliers with repetitive containment failure.
• Lead containment of special-cause supplier projects.
• Align with Variability Reduction Team on Supplier Process issues.
• Provide early notification on potential Stop Shipments related to supplier process.
• Support in containing supplier Stop Ship issues.
• Assist Site STA team with vehicle On-Hold and Release process tracking.
• Work with stakeholders to support root cause reporting for Prevent Action Closure (PAC).
• Monitor daily production reports and notify STA management of issues.

• 2 years of Plant Manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in Quality Management and PPAP processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).

• Supplier Quality Engineer qualification.

The role involves active participation in daily plant quality meetings, acting as a liaison between STA and plant management. This position requires monitoring daily production reports and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure quality standards and processes are upheld.

This is a Contract position based out of Flat Rock, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
