We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to lead ground-up and remodel construction activities within active retail environments. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all specifications and standards. This position requires proficiency in digital construction management tools and strong field leadership, coordinating with multiple trade partners.
Responsibilities- Manage daily on-site construction activities for remodels, expansions, refreshes, and special projects.
- Maintain a strong site presence to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections.
- Enforce safety standards and lead daily huddles and weekly safety meetings.
- Plan and sequence work to ensure minimal impact to store operations and customer traffic.
- Develop, manage, and update project schedules using Wrike.
- Coordinate trade sequencing and manpower loading to meet project timelines.
- Track progress and proactively mitigate schedule risks.
- Ensure all work meets specifications, corporate standards, and approved drawings.
- Conduct daily quality inspections and manage punch lists.
- Oversee commissioning, closeout, and turnover processes.
- Utilize Wrike for task management, schedule updates, and issue tracking.
- Capture 360° site documentation using HoloBuilder to track progress and support reporting.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, RFIs, and field documentation.
- Serve as the primary field contact for store leadership and client representatives.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in large-format retail or big-box renovations.
- Proven ability to manage projects in active, occupied retail environments.
- Hands-on experience with Wrike and HoloBuilder.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, phased construction, and night work schedules.
- Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety leadership best practices.
- Ability to travel extensively or work on regional assignments.
- Experience with national GC programs.
- Familiarity with construction specs, portals, and reporting systems.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate diverse trade partners.
- Experience with additional field technology (Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, etc.).
This role involves frequent walking, standing, and climbing on active construction sites. The position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and off-hours as needed. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear required PPE. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
