Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Superintendent to manage and oversee staff, subcontractors, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage and implement project schedules, ensuring all on-site documentation including drawings, logs, and inspection books are up to date. Responsibilities also include tracking project budgets and providing leadership in areas such as LEAN construction, project site safety, and career development. Maintaining strong relationships with clients, the design team, and subcontractors is essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Implement and adjust project schedules as necessary.
- Responsible for all on-site documentation, ensuring accuracy and currency.
- Track and manage project budgets.
- Provide leadership in LEAN construction, project site safety, and career development.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, design team, and subcontractors.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of field experience managing self-perform commercial construction projects in healthcare or higher education.
- 5 years of written and verbal communication and leadership with subcontractors, owners, and architects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Willingness to travel throughout the state of Iowa, including Des Moines, Grinnell, and Iowa City.
Work Environment
Our office currently has 22 total staff members and has been established in Ankeny for 2 years. Projects include those with Grinnell College, Iowa State, and Iowa City Hospitals. The dress code is casual, allowing for jeans, polos, and slacks. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with Saturdays as needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of ANKENY, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
