Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee upcoming hospital canopy construction projects in South San Jose. This role involves managing a new-build MRI canopy project at an active hospital campus, with potential additional scope to complete an existing canopy structure. The position is a contract-to-hire opportunity with an initial duration of six months, offering strong potential for long-term employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for hospital construction projects.
• Oversee subcontractors, site logistics, safety, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, inspectors, and hospital stakeholders.
• Participate in pre-construction planning and onboarding before mobilizing to the site.
• Maintain site documentation, reporting, and quality control.
• Enforce safety protocols and hospital compliance requirements.
• Support sequencing related to long-lead materials and phased site work.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a Superintendent on mission-critical, healthcare, life science, or similar technical projects.
• Experience with structural canopies, concrete, steel, or site logistics is strongly preferred.
• working in active hospital or high-compliance environments.
• Comfortable stepping into projects that may expand in scope.

• A seasoned but still eager Superintendent.
• Strong communicator who can integrate into an existing team and processes.
• Comfortable in a contract-to-hire arrangement.
• Values stability but understands the reality of project-driven work.

Work Environment

The work environment is located on an active hospital campus, requiring a high level of compliance and safety. The role involves on-site responsibilities and structured onboarding before field deployment. The culture is professional and team-oriented, emphasizing the importance of proper planning and long-term stability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Jose,CA.
