What You’ll Be Doing
- Design protection and control systems for substations, transmission lines, and generation facilities
- Develop and maintain relay schemes, metering systems, and SCADA designs
- Specify substation equipment based on system needs and operating conditions
- Analyze system performance and data to support planning and ongoing improvements
- Build project scopes, timelines, and cost estimates for capital work
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Review and approve drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Support and mentor designers/technicians while ensuring quality and compliance
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Experience working in a utility or closely related environment (substation, transmission, or generation)
- Strong understanding of protection schemes, relays, and control systems
- Hands-on experience with substation P&C design and relay logic
- Ability to read and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard engineering tools/software
This is a Contract position based out of Overland Park, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.33 - $80.00/hr.
