Structural Engineer – High-End Retail Projects (NYC)

Location: 42nd & Park, New York City

Bring iconic retail spaces to life in the heart of New York City. We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our fast‑paced, collaborative team and contribute to high‑profile flagship retail projects across Manhattan, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

What You’ll Do

• Perform structural engineering design and analysis for high-end retail and flagship store projects.
• Work closely with principals, architects, and project managers to ensure structural systems meet design intent, code requirements, and client expectations.
• Review and mark up drawings, coordinate with drafters, and provide clear technical direction.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while managing tight deadlines in an energetic office environment.
• Conduct occasional site visits to verify existing conditions or support construction phases.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5 years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of steel, concrete, and cold‑formed metal framing systems.
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS) and familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD workflows.
• Ability to review drawings and provide precise technical guidance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple fast‑moving projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Bonus Points For

• Experience in high-end retail or commercial interiors.
• Familiarity with NYC building codes, DOB requirements, and special inspections.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and performing field surveys.
• FE or PE licensure (or active progress toward it).

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
