Job Title: Senior Associate

Job Description

We are looking for a highly reliable and hands-on Senior Associate to support a protein engineering lab. This position is based in Thousand Oaks, California, and requires daily onsite work from Monday to Friday, approximately from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This role involves significant laboratory work and supports protein discovery and engineering efforts. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to contribute to binder generation and optimization projects, participating in experimental workflows that advance project milestones.

Responsibilities

• Support protein engineering lab activities in Thousand Oaks.
• Perform foundational molecular biology tasks, including PCR, cloning, DNA assembly, and transformation techniques.
• Contribute to binder generation and optimization efforts within the Integrated Protein Discovery and Engineering group.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team on display technologies in large molecule discovery.
• Execute and troubleshoot experimental workflows to support project milestones.
• Maintain strong documentation habits and data organization skills using Excel.
• Independently perform experiments after initial training.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of hands-on lab experience or a Master's degree with relevant lab experience.
• Degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Strong foundational experience in molecular biology, including PCR, cloning, DNA assembly, and transformation techniques.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment with strong documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and data organization.
• Ability to independently execute experiments after minimal training.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with microbial culture systems, including bacteria, yeast, and mammalian systems.
• Aseptic technique proficiency.
• Experience with display technologies such as yeast display and phage display.
• Flow cytometry (FACS) experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot experimental failures independently.
• Exposure to AI-assisted scientific workflows or analytical tools.
• Protein engineering experience.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role located in Thousand Oaks, California. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from approximately 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The position involves working in a laboratory setting with a focus on molecular biology and protein engineering. Candidates should be comfortable with hands-on lab work and collaborative environments. Relocation support is not provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Thousand Oaks, CA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Thousand Oaks,CA.
