This entry-level role is responsible for receiving, processing, and routing laboratory specimens. It includes tasks such as loading samples onto the automation line, registering specimens, answering phones, and supporting high-volume workflows.
Responsibilities- Receive and process incoming specimens.
- Load samples onto the automation line.
- Register specimens in EMD and Sunquest systems.
- Answer phones and provide customer service support.
- Ensure accurate paperwork handling for outpatient samples.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety procedures.
- Participate in daily endorsements and follow-ups.
- Experience in specimen processing and data entry.
- Ability to accession specimens accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and high-volume multitasking ability.
- Customer service skills, including handling difficult callers professionally.
- Quick learner with laboratory information systems, EMD and Sunquest preferred.
- Entry-level candidates are welcome; experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidates often are in school for science or lab-related fields.
This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays (every other weekend). The shift hours are from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Initial training will occur on the PM shift (1:30 PM to 10:00 PM) until the candidate is prepared to transition to the graveyard shift. The work environment includes supportive programs like Abenity and the CARE Roadmap.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
