Job Description
We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Software Engineer to support embedded systems, scripting, and UI development for proprietary instrumentation. This role involves playing a key part in owning and evolving our software stack while collaborating closely with hardware and instruments on-site.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for embedded systems.
- Create and implement scripting and UI solutions for proprietary instrumentation.
- Work closely with hardware and instruments to enhance functionality.
- Manage and evolve the existing software stack.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure successful project delivery.
- Strong experience in C for embedded/backend development.
- Proficiency in working with Python for UI or scripting tasks.
- Ability to work on-site and interact directly with instrumentation.
- Self-directed and capable of managing workload independently.
- Junior to mid-level experience in software engineering.
- Experience with MATLAB (legacy use; transitioning away).
- Exposure to embedded systems and instrumentation.
- Basic project leadership, capstone experience, or meeting facilitation.
- Knowledge of RTOS, AWS, or microcontrollers.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of State College, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.08/hr.
