Job Title: Software Engineer IV
Job Description
This role involves performing the software engineering function, including the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products. The position requires applying appropriate principles, standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development lifecycle. Key duties include software requirements analysis, analysis of hardware compatibility, and the development of software products and tools used for design, development, and maintenance of infrastructure and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
- Manage entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas.
- Develop solutions to complex technical issues and problems impacting multiple areas or disciplines.
- Regularly employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems.
- Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and with external parties such as sub-contractors and vendors.
- Influence project/team leaders regarding solution design processes and/or approaches.
Essential Skills
- Expert knowledge and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- 6 years of experience in embedded or firmware development, including significant bare-metal experience.
- 3 years of experience in technical leadership, team lead, or supervisory roles.
- Proficiency in C/C for embedded systems.
- Experience working with microcontrollers, peripherals, registers, and low-level drivers.
- Experience debugging complex hardware/software systems using JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and related tools.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Possession of a Doctorate in a technical domain is a plus.
Work Environment
Work involves cross-functional collaboration with firmware, hardware, systems, and test teams. Hands-on lab and debug work supporting hardware/software integration is required. The work environment is mission-driven, focusing on building and supporting software-intensive systems with high reliability, performance, and security expectations. Teams regularly collaborate across engineering disciplines and with customer stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver complex technical solutions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
