Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer
Job Description
The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety and occupational health programs on federally funded construction projects. The SSHO ensures full compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and agency-specific safety requirements while supporting project execution through proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation. The SSHO serves as the primary on-site authority for safety and health matters and has the authority to stop work when unsafe conditions exist.
Responsibilities
Develop, submit, implement, and maintain the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with EM 385‑1‑1 and NAVFAC contract requirements
- Enforce compliance with EM 385‑1‑1, OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926, FAR clauses, and NAVFAC safety requirements
- Conduct daily safety inspections, document findings, and track corrective actions to completion
- Coordinate safety activities with the QC Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors, and ROICC personnel

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
