Job Description

The SHE Supervisor will oversee safety programs and initiatives across manufacturing and packaging operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and improving safety standards. The role involves implementing automatic storage robotics systems and developing behavioral safety engagement programs. The SHE Supervisor must engage leadership and drive action to enhance safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement safety programs across manufacturing sites.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and oversee machine improvements, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Develop and deploy safety engagement programs and leverage cross-functional departments.
• Manage chemical programs and oversee safety initiatives at a program level.
• Work collaboratively with department leads and hands-on staff to foster a proactive safety culture.
• Monitor SHE performance indicators and report regularly on safety metrics.
• Support the deployment of global/regional SHE strategies, policies, and standards.
• Conduct safety risk assessments and develop improvement action plans.
• Ensure training, toolbox meetings, and drills are part of the company's safety program.
• Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environment standards.
• Support budget alignment and attainment for the SHE department/plant.
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Increase SHE awareness through various communication channels.
• Participate in internal and external audits, coordinating activities and informing relevant personnel.
• Control major risks and deploy internal SHE audits and inspection systems.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in safety management and compliance.
• 3-4 years of experience in an OSHA-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in preparing for audits and making necessary adjustments.
• Experience in SHE departments or with SHE teams.
• Ability to lead teams and proficient in Excel.
• Strong communication, observation, and auditing skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Machinery and/or process safety knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with third-party audits is advantageous.

Work Environment

The Safety Manager will work primarily on the manufacturing floor, adhering to a rotating 12-hour schedule from 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required to occasionally address off-shift hours for training or incident response. The environment involves working with a variety of manufacturing and packaging equipment, and coordination with an on-site nurse through a third party for health-related compliance.

This is a Permanent position based out of Jefferson City, MO.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
