⭐ Job Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and improving the quality of materials and components provided by external suppliers. This role involves conducting supplier audits, leading root cause investigations, driving corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and experienced in supplier development and quality engineering methodologies.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Supplier Audits & Qualification
- Conduct audits to evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
- Assess supplier quality systems and verify compliance with industry standards.
- Perform routine on‑site audits to ensure ongoing adherence to QMS requirements.
Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Track and analyze supplier performance metrics.
- Identify trends and develop action plans to address recurring quality issues.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
- Partner with suppliers to investigate defects or non‑conforming materials.
- Lead root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Issue and manage SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Reports) when quality anomalies occur.
Supplier Coaching & Development
- Support suppliers in implementing quality tools such as SPC, Six Sigma, FMEA, and other process‑improvement methodologies.
- Drive initiatives to increase yield, reduce defects, and lower costs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams to align supplier quality with organizational requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of audits, corrective actions, supplier performance, and quality documentation.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure supplier materials and processes meet all relevant regulatory and industry standards.
