Job Description

The team focuses on blending innovation, sustainability, and community impact to solve modern mobility challenges, delivering high-quality solutions across transit, rail, and multimodal infrastructure. The role involves leading multidisciplinary freight rail projects from early planning through execution while fostering strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess new market opportunities within the freight rail and transportation sectors.
- Develop and execute strategies to pursue targeted clients and projects.
- Manage full lifecycle client relationships and support pursuit strategies.
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Serve as principal-in-charge or project manager as needed, overseeing project performance, contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and profitability.
- Ensure timely, high-quality, and budget-conscious project delivery.
- Lead, manage, and mentor engineers and project managers.
- Support professional development and promote technical excellence.
- Make pursuit staffing and partner decisions, support go/no-go decisions, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on freight rail and rail-related land development projects.
- Experience working within the railroad engineering industry, including familiarity with design guidelines and standards.
- Experience delivering projects for Class I railroads and rail-served industrial clients.
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard project communication tools.
- Strong technical writing skills and confidence presenting to clients and public stakeholders.
- Ability to plan, organize, and lead medium-to-large teams of professionals and technicians.
- Demonstrated success in winning and delivering transportation projects.
- Ability to periodically travel for client meetings, business development, and project support.
