Job Title: Senior Industrial Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Industrial Engineer is a pivotal role focused on problem-solving, change management, resource optimization, design, and project management. This position is responsible for driving manufacturing initiatives, including process flows, value stream mapping, 5S methodologies, and evaluating large data sets. The goal is to provide new, streamlined processes and efficiencies for the plant.

Responsibilities

• Drive manufacturing initiatives such as process flows, value stream mapping, and 5S methodologies.
• Evaluate large data sets to enhance manufacturing processes.
• Design and project planning in an office setting, comprising 60% of the role.
• Conduct time studies and observe floor activities to gather information for continuous improvement, comprising 40% of the role.
• Implement and improve process flow and plant layout.
• Work with robotic welding cells and equipment layout to optimize production.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology.
• 4 years of Industrial Engineering experience, including time study, lean, kaizen, plant layout, equipment layout, and continuous improvement.
• 2D plant layout design.
• Previous automotive industry experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) or similar work measurement systems.
• Experience with 3D design.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large manufacturing facility specializing in sheet metal production for shelving units, similar to those found in major retail stores. Engineers will primarily work on the floor alongside production support, amidst the noise and activity of fabrication and manufacturing lines. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $57.00/hr.
