Job Description

This Senior Electrical Engineer role focuses on leading the design, development, and integration of advanced analog and digital circuits, power electronics, and control systems for cutting-edge space-related technologies. You will drive the architecture and implementation of complex electrical systems, ensure they meet stringent safety and performance standards, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of analog circuits and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and performance requirements.
  • Define and develop electrical system architectures, including power electronics, analog/digital circuits, and control systems for complex platforms.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical components and subsystems across platforms, ensuring seamless functionality and system-level optimization.
  • Oversee the analysis, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to improve performance, reliability, and robustness.
  • Develop and implement control algorithms and control systems tailored to specific operational and mission needs.
  • Lead the design and validation of analog front-end circuits and mixed-signal interfaces for integrating sensors, control loops, and microcontroller subsystems.
  • Select and characterize filter topologies, such as low-pass, band-pass, and notch filters, to meet system-level noise rejection and bandwidth requirements.
  • Lead PCB design from schematic capture through board layout, with a focus on low-noise analog and mixed-signal designs, and provide concrete project examples.
  • Plan and execute testing strategies, including verification, validation, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production systems.
  • Coordinate with external partners and suppliers to source high-quality electrical components that align with technical and program objectives.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and code and design reviews to junior engineers and broader project teams in electrical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Draft clear, comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, design reports, test plans, and results, to support project execution and certification.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, tools, and standards in electrical engineering, power electronics, control systems, and space-related technologies.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, detail-oriented team culture that emphasizes quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in electrical system architecture and design, power electronics, analog circuits, digital circuits, and control systems, including at least 3 years of recent experience.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing diverse electrical projects, with the ability to provide concrete project examples.
  • At least 5 years of experience in analog and digital circuit design, including designing and validating analog front-end circuits and mixed-signal interfaces for sensors, control loops, and microcontroller subsystems.
  • Demonstrated filter design experience, including selection and characterization of low-pass, band-pass, notch, and other filter topologies to meet noise rejection and bandwidth requirements.
  • Experience leading PCB design from schematic capture through board layout, with emphasis on low-noise analog and mixed-signal designs, supported by specific project examples.
  • Strong ability to test and troubleshoot electrical designs and systems.
  • Expertise in power electronics and control systems applied to complex, safety-critical or performance-critical platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented approach to engineering work, ensuring high quality and on-time delivery of projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Altium for PCB design and layout.
  • Proficiency with SPICE or similar circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for modeling, simulation, and control system development.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and C/C .
  • Proficiency with microcontrollers and related interfaces, including SPI, I2C, UART, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Familiarity with current safety standards and regulations in electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with Directed Energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness technologies.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a track record of contributing effectively in cross-functional environments.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging tools, methodologies, and technologies in electrical engineering.
Work Environment

This is an on-site role based in Las Vegas, with a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., five days per week. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with a strong emphasis on innovation, growth, creativity, and well-being. The dress code is casual, typically jeans and a polo. You will work with modern design and simulation tools such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and embedded software environments, as well as laboratory equipment for testing and troubleshooting advanced electrical and space-related systems. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
