Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Designer with a strong background in electrical design and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. This role requires a detailed-oriented professional capable of creating comprehensive lighting, power, and systems design packages while ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and distribution system design across various building types.

Responsibilities

• Independently design most electrical systems using company standards, templates, and project-specific logic.
• Perform detailed load and voltage drop calculations.
• Participate in the layout and coordination of advanced electrical rooms and complex systems.
• Conduct ComCheck lighting calculations for code compliance.
• Fluently apply NEC and other codes.
• Lead coordination and documentation on projects.
• Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally.
• Review shop drawings independently.
• Provide redlines, guidance, and training to Level 1 and 2 engineers.
• Help onboard junior team members and embrace the company's culture.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6 years of electrical design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience in creating lighting, power, and systems design packages.
• Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and energy codes and standards.
• Experience mentoring juniors and reviewing their work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Professional communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience attending client meetings and coordinating with consultants.
• Familiarity with EIT and PE certifications.

Work Environment

Our office is located at 116 W 32nd St #12, New York, NY. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 1-2 days work from home. Office hours are from 8am-5pm or 8:30am-5:30pm. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
