As a Data Engineer within our Data Platforms organization, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering advanced data solutions that enable trusted analytics and AI across the enterprise. Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and global technology teams to create efficient, scalable data flows while ensuring strong data governance practices. Transform raw data into actionable insights that drive innovation and smarter decisions for our customers and the planet.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and engineer data lakes by identifying data sources, extracting data, modeling data, designing data stores, and implementing governance.
• Develop data flows to ingest and transform both structured and unstructured data using warehousing and big data methodologies and tools to build refined and aggregated data assets for business intelligence and AI enablement.
• Implement efficient patterns for data storage, partitioning, semantic layers, and metadata structures to enable consumption of data as a product.
• Implement automation capabilities to enable governance features for data privacy and protection, data inventory and cataloging, authorization, and data security.
• Implement enhanced observability, cost management, and reporting strategies for data engineering operations.
• Build relevant integration testing and quality assurance capabilities while ensuring compliance with architectural standards for development.
• Perform assessments (Proof of Concepts) of the latest tools and technology to assist in evolving the technology landscape.
• Lead, mentor, and support the Data Delivery teams with methodologies, tools, and technical expertise.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience working within PySpark.
• Hands-on experience in writing clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code using either functional or OOP principles.
• Proficiency with SQL, SQL databases, Windows, CI/CD, and Git.
• Experience with Spark, Glue, pipelines, and Python coding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, KMS, Lambda, Glue, SQS, EventBridge, and AWS Step Functions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with data governance, cataloging, and discovery tools such as AWS Glue and Lake Formation.
• Exposure to data lake architectures and data governance practices.
• Knowledge of Data Management, Integration, and Data Quality tools spanning no-code, low-code, and code-first methodologies.

Work Environment

The work environment is hybrid, with a policy of 2 days on-site and 3 days remote. Enjoy benefits such as a 5-10 percent annual bonus, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), and the opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date).

This is a Permanent position based out of Louisville, KY.

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $175000.00/yr.

5-10 percent bonus annually. 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date)

This is a fully onsite position in Louisville,KY.

This position is anticipated to close on Mar 18, 2026.
