Senior Construction Project Manager

The Senior Construction Project Manager oversees complex public sector construction projects, with a strong focus on K–12, higher education, and municipal facilities. This role leads projects from planning and design through construction and closeout, serving as an owner’s representative and primary point of contact for public clients. The position requires deep expertise in municipal design codes, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across school and municipal projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of construction projects for public clients, including K–12 schools, higher education facilities, and municipal buildings.
• Serve as an owner’s representative, advocating for the client’s interests throughout design, construction, and project closeout.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution using tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Manage and coordinate design and construction activities to ensure alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Ensure compliance with municipal design codes and applicable regulations on all assigned projects.
• Lead client-facing activities, including meetings, presentations, and regular project status updates for public sector stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, and manage project proposals, estimates, and budgets to support successful project delivery.
• Administer and track change orders, ensuring accurate documentation, cost control, and timely approvals.
• Coordinate with project engineers and construction teams to resolve field issues and maintain project quality standards.
• Oversee construction management activities on-site, including monitoring progress, safety practices, and adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams on program management initiatives across multiple concurrent projects.
• Support risk identification and mitigation strategies to address schedule, budget, and construction challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and best practices within the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 10 years of industry experience in construction or engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in a project management role overseeing construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience working with municipal design codes on public works or similar projects.
• Proven experience leading public clients on school and municipal construction projects.
• Strong background in construction management, including design and construction coordination.
• Proficiency with project scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Experience managing change orders, estimation, and project budgeting.
• Hands-on experience with public works and owner’s representative construction roles.
• Solid understanding of project engineering principles within construction environments.
• Experience delivering projects in higher education and K–12 construction settings.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills to lead and influence public sector stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience preparing and managing detailed proposals for construction and engineering projects.
• background in program management across multiple related projects or a portfolio of public works.
• Ability to build long-term relationships with school districts, higher education institutions, and municipal agencies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing field issues and design challenges.
• Proficiency in general office and collaboration software to support reporting and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and collaborate with project engineers and other team members.
• Growth mindset and interest in expanding responsibilities as an owner’s representative.

The Senior Construction Project Manager works in a hybrid environment that includes home-based work, on-site presence at active construction sites, and occasional visits to office locations for meetings. Time on construction sites involves regular interaction with contractors, design teams, and client representatives, and requires appropriate attire and safety gear in accordance with site safety standards. Office and remote work focus on planning, scheduling, documentation, and client communication, using tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6 and standard office software. The role offers flexibility to work from home and from various office locations in the eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware region, with travel to project sites as needed to support effective project oversight and client engagement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Allentown, PA.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
