Service Engineer

As a Service Engineer, you will assist in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various coordinate measuring machines (CMM), machine tools, and accessories. Your role will involve identifying, analyzing, and repairing failures, ordering, and replacing parts as needed, and providing customer training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and maintenance of machines, including diagnosis, repairs, troubleshooting, certifications, and re-calibration at customer sites to meet factory specifications and accuracy standards.
• Respond to basic customer questions about product features.
• Support service calls to customer sites to resolve issues with company products, diagnose and correct basic problems, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide technical support to other service representatives and customers.
• Ensure prompt preparation and completion of service and expense reports.
• Deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction in a professional manner.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks including assembly, disassembly, leveling, diagnosis, and repair of automated equipment issues.
• Carry out basic electrical tasks including diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance and field modifications.
• Maintain administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs and internal service records.
• Ensure tools and test equipment are properly calibrated.
• Maintain daily communications with customers to resolve and follow up on issues.

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a field service technician
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical tasks
• Strong communication skills

The position requires 100% travel to customer sites, including some significant clients. The role involves standing, walking, sitting for long periods, regular bending, and kneeling. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard use and operating office equipment. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequent communication with other employees and customers is necessary. The company offers a hybrid schedule, unlimited PTO, and flexibility. Employees receive holiday pay and one week of PTO, with potential for growth and education reimbursement for achieving high grades.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Kingstown, RI.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
