We’re seeking a Senior‑level Controls & Automation Engineer who wants long‑term stability, meaningful technical ownership, and the chance to work on projects that directly support the reliability and evolution of the North American power grid.
This role is offered as a long‑term W2 contract with full benefits, providing both security and flexibility while working on multi‑year, high‑impact initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Own controls and automation engineering for utility‑scale renewable and power generation facilities
- Design, program, and support PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems from early development through commissioning
- Serve as a technical lead for grid‑connected control systems and plant integration
- Execute and support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities to ensure performance and compliance
- Maintain full accountability for PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing completion
- Collaborate closely with EPCs, utilities, OEMs, and internal engineering teams
- Provide on‑site commissioning support as needed (up to 25% travel)
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 11 years of hands‑on experience in PLC programming, preferably on Schneider Electric platforms
- Expert knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols
- Strong experience with Ignition SCADA and HMI development
- Deep understanding of power systems and utility‑scale energy projects
- Proven experience supporting renewable energy or large power generation facilities
- Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies
- Familiarity with grid interconnection standards and utility requirements
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Clear, confident communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience with NERC CIP cybersecurity requirements
- Direct interaction with utilities, ISO/RTOs, and OEM partners
- Track record of leading controls efforts on complex, mission‑critical projects

This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
