  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs of substation and inside electrical work areas.
  • Document safety observations, inspections, and corrective actions using tablets and computer-based systems.
  • Report safety activities, incidents, near misses, and corrective measures in a timely and accurate manner using IT systems.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analyses, and help develop preventive actions.
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly to subcontractors and field personnel, and reinforce a strong safety culture on site.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project teams, field supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve safety concerns.
  • Provide ongoing safety guidance and coaching to field personnel to promote safe work practices.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of site-specific safety programs and procedures.
  • Travel to various substation project sites across the country as project needs require.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation for compliance and internal reporting.
Essential Skills

  • Experience providing safety oversight on new substation builds and substation upgrade projects.
  • Background in safety oversight for projects involving BESS, solar, wind, or data center tie-ins is beneficial.
  • Experience working in an owner’s representative capacity on construction projects is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, reporting, and multiple project demands.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project schedules, crew sizes, and site conditions.

This role is field-based and project-driven, with primary initial coverage at substation projects near Batavia, NY, where two active projects are located approximately 10 minutes apart. One project typically has a crew of about 15 personnel, while the second averages around 25 personnel.
