Job Description
Join a dynamic team responsible for closing a 70 acre ash pond at a large utility company. The Safety Coordinator will perform safety inspections, audits, and generate reports on-site. This role involves direct communication with the Director of Safety and requires daily safety walk-downs, craft labor safety inspections, site training, and maintaining OSHA 300 logs. The successful candidate will ensure safe construction practices are implemented throughout the project.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections and audits on site.
- Provide safety training to craft labor.
- Generate daily reports on safety inspections.
- Update OSHA 300 log for recordables.
- Ensure that safe construction practices are being utilized.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of heavy industrial construction safety experience.
- Certification in CHST, OSHA 500, or a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience on utility ash pond closure projects.
Work Environment
The work is located in Chester, VA, at a power plant. The position involves night shifts from Sunday to Thursday, working 12-hour shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. The environment is fast-paced, and safety gear such as hard hats, boots, glasses, gloves, and protective vests are required. This role offers multiple project-based opportunities for contract safety professionals to gain valuable field experience within a supportive and growth-oriented company.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
