Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for engineering activities needed to develop and implement reliability plans for Division-specific Products. The role involves working collaboratively with product engineering and core team members to ensure that reliability objectives are achieved before product launch. The candidate must be adept at effectively interfacing with product engineering teams to communicate and support the use of reliability plans, and maintain an ongoing summary of all reliability projects.

• Develop and implement reliability plans for Division-specific Products.
• Collaborate with product engineering and core team members to achieve reliability objectives before product launch.
• Effectively communicate and support the use of reliability plans with product engineering teams.
• Maintain ongoing summaries of all reliability projects.
• Analyze accelerated test and field return data to model fatigue life and predict failure probability of electronic components used in residential water heaters.
• Build Weibull-based reliability models in Minitab to support lifetime prediction, qualification decisions, and reliability targets.
• Develop a warranty reliability forecasting framework using historical field data to support product reliability planning and warranty cost estimation.
• Lead hands-on Weibull analysis workshops for reliability and quality engineers, standardizing the use of statistical reliability tools across the team.

• Experience in reliability engineering and reliability testing.
• Proficiency in research and development (R&D) processes.
• Knowledge of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Experience in water heating manufacturing.
• Engineering degree.
• Experience in reliability testing within an engineering R&D environment.

• Experience analyzing accelerated test and field return data.
• Ability to model fatigue life and predict failure probability of electronic components.
• Proficiency in building Weibull-based reliability models using Minitab.
• Experience developing warranty reliability forecasting frameworks.
• Experience leading workshops and standardizing statistical reliability tools.

The role is based in an R&D Lab environment where collaboration with engineering and core team members is essential.

This is a Contract position based out of Montgomery, AL.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
