Job Description

Actalent is seeking a Quality Specialist in Columbus, OH to support a cell and gene therapy biological manufacturing company. The individual will work primarily with the Quality Control Laboratory to support the testing and analysis of cGMP produced viral vectors and cells. This role will not be performing laboratory testing itself, and will be focused on the documentation/desk-based side of the team. It involves close collaboration with the QC manager and senior QC staff to cultivate and enact strategic direction in the GMP area.

• Perform report writing.
• Updating and writing SOPs.
• Perform documentation related to material release.
• Perform data logging.
• Operate within the Quality Management System applicable to the manufacture of phase-appropriate material in the CMF.
• Identify gaps and implement improvements in processes associated with sample management.
• Complete, review, file, and archive documentation according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Document all activities performed according to GMP, cGMP, GLP, and QC standards.

Essential Skills

• BS degree in Biology or related science field.
• 1 year of prior QA or QC experience.
• Experience in a GMP manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
• Understanding of regulatory and documentation constraints in a GMP environment.
• Strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Desire to build a long-term career in Cell/Gene Therapy.

Work Environment

The role is based in a rapidly growing company with state-of-the-art facilities, currently building two new sites in Columbus, Ohio. The environment includes clean rooms and advanced equipment, with opportunities to work in cross-functional teams. This is a first shift 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday position.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
