Job Description
The QA Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying the quality of electronic components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and customer requirements. This role requires hands-on experience inspecting printed circuit board assemblies and working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electronic components and assemblies.
- Inspect PCBA builds for workmanship, solder quality, component placement, and cosmetic defects.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and quality specifications.
- Use inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, multimeters, and gauges to verify product quality.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and reports.
- Identify nonconforming material and clearly communicate issues to manufacturing and quality teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality defects.
- Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality procedures.
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Previous experience as a QA Inspector or Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience inspecting PCBAs at the component and assembly level.
- Working knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC A-610.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience with electronics manufacturing or semiconductor-related products.
- Familiarity with ESD handling and cleanroom procedures.
- Experience using ERP or quality management systems.
