Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality & Food Safety Manager to lead our food safety and quality systems. This role is crucial in maintaining and improving our standards in food safety, supporting operations, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the SQF Practitioner and primary owner of SQF, HACCP, GMP, and PCQI-aligned quality systems.
- Lead internal and external audits with target audit scores of 95% or higher.
- Maintain and continuously improve food safety plans, prerequisite programs, and preventive controls.
- Oversee environmental monitoring, microbiological programs, and sanitation verification.
- Optimize CIP and sanitation programs to exceed ATP pass rate targets.
- Ensure quality compliance during production, changeovers, and scale-ups.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for deviations, complaints, and non-conformances.
- Manage supplier approval, qualification, and compliance programs.
- Ensure supplier and third-party compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
- Lead qualification and validation of new ingredients, packaging, and chemical suppliers.
- Support new product commercialization, including validation of new formulas, packaging, and processes.
- Ensure readiness for pilot runs, scale-ups, and production launches.
- Collaborate with R&D and Supply Chain for regulatory and quality compliance.
- Lead and develop QA, sanitation, microbiology, and lab teams.
- Mentor QA Managers, Quality Systems Specialists, Supervisors, and Lab Technicians.
- Build a strong food safety culture through training programs and continuous education.
- Establish, track, and standardize Quality KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce complaints, rework, and the cost of poor quality.
- Utilize data and digital systems to support decision-making.
- Strong knowledge in food safety, HACCP, food quality, and quality assurance.
- Experience in USDA, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 7–12 years of progressive experience in food or beverage manufacturing quality.
- Proven experience as an SQF Practitioner with successful audit outcomes.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, PCQI, and FDA food safety regulations.
- Experience leading multi-site quality programs is preferred.
- Certifications in Food Safety/Protection Management (ServeSafe or equivalent), HACCP, PCQI, and SQF Practitioner.
- Root Cause Analysis training and Better Process Control School certification (preferred).
The role is based in a food manufacturing and office environment, providing strong hands-on learning and visibility in a growing nutraceutical manufacturer.

This is a Permanent position based out of Leesburg, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
