Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision in our custom manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in interpreting blueprints, supporting quality control processes, and collaborating with the manufacturing team to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Include
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.
- Support SPC, gauge R&R, and gauge tracking activities.
- Perform metrology of precision machined parts using common gauges such as micrometers, calipers, height stands, and pitch mics.
- Document and track inspection results using Excel and ERP systems.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing to support quality, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with internal audits and ISO-related activities as needed.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving, custom manufacturing environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience using a wide range of gauges.
- Experience with any ERP system (transitioning from AS400 to IQMS this year).
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow through on tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SPC, gauge R&R, and auditing is preferred.
- Exposure to CMM / vision systems such as Keyence, Scan 360, PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
- Familiarity with IATF environments is an advantage.
- Experience in automotive, construction equipment, hydraulics, pumps, or regulated manufacturing is beneficial.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a strong plus.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a hands-on capacity on the manufacturing floor. Equipment includes vertical and horizontal mills, Swiss machines, and index lathes, focusing on precision machining and custom work. This is a dynamic environment that requires adaptability and collaboration.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
