Job Title: Quality Engineer/Analyst

Job Description

The Quality Analyst will lead critical supplier processes to drive Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance improvement. This role involves issuing quality concerns to responsible suppliers and collaborating with them to follow the 8D process. The analyst will achieve quality containment and certify parts for production, ensuring both interim and permanent corrective actions are in place. Tracking open issues and communicating them to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams is crucial. Additionally, the analyst will set up a Quality Operating System and conduct APQP reviews with program new tooled parts suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead Critical Supplier Process to drive Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance improvement.
• Issue Quality Concerns to responsible suppliers.
• Work with suppliers to follow the 8D process.
• Achieve quality containment and certify parts for production.
• Implement interim and permanent corrective actions.
• Track open issues and communicate to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
• Set up Quality Operating System and APQP reviews with program new tooled parts suppliers.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of Quality engineering and root cause analysis.
• Experience in a production environment, specifically automotive
• Strong communication skills and teamwork on the floor.
• Expertise in Quality Containment: systematic search and quarantine of nonconforming product/material throughout the supply chain and manufacturing process.
• Experience with 8D, 6 Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt, CMMS, ERP, MRP, supplier quality, CAPA, IATF.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel to suppliers as required (0 to 25%).
• 6 Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with inventory management within a CMMS, ERP, or MRP system.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Experience with Quality Containment.

Work Environment

This is a day shift position from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with a half-hour break. The role involves spending part of the time on the production floor investigating issues and communicating with team members. The remaining time will be spent in the office. There might be occasional overlap with the shifts before and after for key information transfers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.25 - $42.25/hr.
