Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to ensure the highest standards of quality in our production process. This role involves conducting in-process quality testing and verifying label accuracy in accordance with FDA regulations. You will test fill weights, lot codes, expiration dates, label placement, and shipping labels, and submit samples to the QC Chemistry and QC Microbiology labs for testing hourly, following the lab schedule. You will also be responsible for closing paperwork, submitting reports including weight averages, and batch record reviews. In this FDA-regulated facility, your keen eye for detail and quality assurance skills will be vital to maintaining compliance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-process quality testing and verify label accuracy following FDA regulations.
• Test fill weights, lot codes, expiration dates, leakers, label placement, foreign material, and shipping labels.
• Submit samples to QC Chemistry and QC Microbiology labs for testing hourly, following the lab schedule.
• Complete closing paperwork and submit reports, including weight averages and batch record reviews.
• Monitor all non-conforming products and have the authority to stop production if products do not pass quality testing.
• Assist the team in root cause analysis and investigations of QC issues.

Essential Skills

• Strong math skills with the ability to perform calculations and percentages.
• Attention to detail to identify mistakes and ensure product quality.
• Ability to work independently and make judgment calls/decisions.
• Previous experience working in QC, preferably within GMP environments.
• Capability to work effectively as part of a large Quality Control team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous QA/QC experience in manufacturing, particularly in the food, personal care, or pharma industries.
• Knowledge of FDA, GMP, GDP regulations.
• Opportunities for growth and advancement within the QC career path.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Elgin,IL.
