Job Title: QC Microbiologist – Environmental Monitoring
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: On-site, Worcester, MA
Schedule Flexibility: Occasional weekend and holiday work required (pre-scheduled)
Experience Level: 3–5 years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related life science required
Note: Candidates with Master’s degrees or research-focused backgrounds will not be considered.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated QC Microbiologist to join our Environmental Monitoring (EM) team within a GMP-regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in microbiological testing, aseptic techniques, and cleanroom practices. This role supports routine EM activities, fill operations, and various lab functions to ensure product and material quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine Environmental Monitoring (EM) in GMP cleanroom environments, including during fill operations.
- Execute laboratory test methods as written to support product and material release.
- Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory records in accordance with GMP standards.
- Assist with investigations by gathering and analyzing data.
- Draft or revise procedures under supervision.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks independently.
- Trend and analyze EM data to support reporting.
- Support lab operations, including gowning and working in biosafety cabinets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain strong communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of QC Microbiology experience, including hands-on EM and lab testing.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques and working in biosafety hoods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and moving between buildings.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with LIMS for data entry is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Knowledge of USP, EP, JP, ICH guidelines, and cGMP regulations.
- Experience with cleanroom gowning and documentation practices.
- Prior experience in a GMP or cleanroom environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.86 - $32.86/hr.
