Job Description
This role of Quality Control Technician I is based in South Portland, Maine. The position involves ensuring the quality of company products meets the standards set by the Company's Quality System and regulatory agencies such as the FDA, ISO, and CMDR.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing of in-process components for Lateral Flow, ELISA, and Molecular products.
- Conduct final release testing for Lateral Flow, ELISA, and Molecular products.
- Troubleshoot technical and quality issues.
- Undertake new procedures and observe proper safety precautions.
- Execute technical procedures and utilize laboratory equipment effectively.
- Review batch records for accuracy.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP/GLP).
Essential Skills
- Associate's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of laboratory and/or quality control experience.
- Working knowledge of internet software, MRP, Inventory/Manufacturing software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP and GLP).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and document results accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a regulated industry.
- 2 years of experience with GMP, FDA, ISO, and USDA regulations.
- Prior experience with pipettes, pH meters, and ELISA assays.
- Knowledge of enzyme and/or immunochromatographic assays, inspection/measurement systems, systematic troubleshooting, statistics, and data analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before small groups.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
