Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire quality program from inception to execution. This role involves maintaining and enhancing the ISO/AS Quality Management System (QMS), leading inspections, managing nonconformance handling, conducting internal audits, managing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and supporting UL/CSA requirements. The manager will also report QMS performance to the President, develop and manage the QA/QC staff, and drive continuous improvement to meet quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ISO/AS QMS.
• Lead inspections and handle nonconformance issues.
• Run internal audits and manage CAPA.
• Support UL/CSA requirements and audits.
• Report QMS performance to the President.
• Manage and develop QA/QC staff.
• Drive continuous improvement against quality objectives.

Essential Skills

• 5 years managing ISO and/or AS9100 QMS.
• 5 years in management or supervisory capacity.
• Experience with UL and CSA requirements and audits.
• Strong computer competency, including Microsoft Office, ERP/data entry (Sage), and Adobe Pro.
• Comfort in a low volume, high quality manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with Flex Heater, flex circuit, CQA, CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt.
• Familiarity with FMEA, Control Plans, PDCA, Lean/6S/Kaizen.
• Evidence of building a culture of quality.
• Ability to manage conflict and change management.
• Ability to publish operational quality metrics.
• Experience in supplier quality and major nonconformance leadership.

Work Environment

The role is based in a professional office environment with time spent in manufacturing areas, where noise and fume exposure is possible. It is an onsite position that supports production and customer quality requirements. This is a Permanent position based out of East Lyme, CT.

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
