Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated QC Technician who will utilize their knowledge of basic chemistry and lab equipment to ensure the quality of our raw materials and finished products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing, inspecting, and reporting accurate data, while ensuring a timely lab workflow.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of basic chemistry and lab equipment.
- Test and inspect raw materials and finished products according to specifications.
- Report accurate data and ensure timely lab workflow.
- Operate lab equipment and understand the basic theories.
- Perform sensory analysis and understand raw material characteristics.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues.
- Recommend process improvements and take initiative on additional projects.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with customer complaints and CRM case management.
- Review and suggest updates to QC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate on Sensory Evaluation Team for flavors and fragrances (taste/odor).
- Assist in the development of analytical testing procedures/protocols for raw materials and finished products.
- Assist in troubleshooting resolutions for problem formulas and raw materials.
- Participate with ideas and solutions for workflow process and quality improvement.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Experience in quality control and laboratory settings.
- Familiarity with GMP, MSDS, PH Meter, Density Meter, and Moisture Balance Measuring.
- Proficiency in pipetting, wet chemistry, and documentation control.
- Strong organizational, statistical, and math skills.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with sensory analysis is a huge plus.
- GCFID or GCMS experience is a definite plus.
- Experience in a related field is preferred, which could include internships or specific classes or industry experience.
This position operates within a GMP-regulated environment focused on food and beverage production. The role involves meeting strict deadlines and adhering to regulations. The work environment emphasizes communication, requiring candidates who are comfortable interacting with employees at all levels. Equipment used includes computers, gram scales, moisture balance measuring devices, PH meters, refractometers, and density meters. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.63 - $21.63/hr.
