Job Title: QC Raw Materials Scientist I

Join a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the production of quality products. As a QC Raw Materials Scientist I, you will support the site's manufacturing processes through various critical duties, including raw material sampling, inspections, and dispositions. Additionally, you will contribute to drafting and revising procedures and specifications, author deviation investigations, and manage chemical sampling inventory. This fast-paced role requires adaptability and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and sampling of incoming materials, including bulk gases and cell banks.
• Review and disposition raw materials to ensure quality standards.
• Support general sampling functions such as ordering and stocking sampling supplies.
• Maintain chemical retain inventory and manage hazardous waste disposal.
• Draft and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and department-owned documentation.
• Assist with drafting or supporting deviation investigations to ensure timely closure.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks for the department.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with GMP practices and laboratory environments.
• Attention to detail, particularly in Biology and Chemistry contexts.
• Basic technical writing skills for SOPs and training documents.
• Experience with aseptic techniques.
• Ability to use standard computer programs such as MS Excel, Word, and Access.

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science field, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Quality control experience in incoming materials or raw materials is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of cGMP experience is preferred.
• Detail-oriented and results-driven mindset.

The position involves heavy lifting up to 50 lbs and requires sampling raw materials from various sources, such as cell banks, drums, and bottles. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility for additional hours if desired. The role requires working between two facilities, B6 on the main campus and B11 in Earth City, with advance scheduling for these locations. Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands and the requirement to work between different facilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
