Equipment Support Specialist – QC Laboratory
Job Overview
The QC Equipment team is responsible for the full lifecycle management of laboratory equipment supporting Quality Control operations. This includes equipment procurement, validation and change control strategy development and execution, ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and decommissioning activities as needed. This role supports a fast‑paced, GMP-regulated laboratory environment and works closely with cross‑functional stakeholders and external vendors to ensure reliable and compliant QC equipment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine work orders and provide day‑to‑day equipment support for QC laboratory operations
- Partner closely with internal customers and external vendors to ensure reliable performance of QC equipment in a fast‑paced environment
- Own and manage change controls related to new, replacement, or upgraded QC equipment
- Lead the procurement process for new QC laboratory equipment, including gathering requirements, coordinating with vendors, and supporting purchase execution
- Work independently to lead cross‑functional stakeholders in defining end‑user requirements, validation needs, and change control strategies
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support analytical benchtop laboratory equipment
- Lead and support equipment‑related projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure on‑time and on‑budget implementation of analytical instruments
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks through collaboration with key stakeholders
- Provide oversight and coordination of vendor‑performed preventive maintenance activities
- Create new equipment assets and manage preventive maintenance scheduling within Maximo
- Obtain end‑user requirements and vendor quotations for lifecycle replacement of laboratory equipment
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree plus 2 years of relevant experience OR
- Technical school training with 2 years of hands‑on experience OR
- High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in GMP and GDP laboratory environments
- Proficiency with TrackWise, Maximo, and CDOCS
- Experience with Quality Systems, including Change Control, Deviations, and CAPAs
- Experience with validation activities, data integrity requirements, and quality processes
- Strong problem‑solving skills with knowledge of LEAN principles

This is a Contract position based out of West Greenwich, RI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
