Job Description

The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of products by conducting various tests and inspections. This role involves weighing finished products, examining packaging labels, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Weigh finished products at specified intervals and record deviations.
• Inform Production Supervisor of any necessary weight adjustments.
• Examine packaging labels to ensure correct labels, UPC, and allergen statements are used.
• Inspect package fabrication of pouches, cartons, and shipping containers for quality.
• Verify the accuracy of code dates on packaging.
• Understand and apply the hold/release procedure for nonconforming products or packaging.
• Apply knowledge of SQF standards, HACCP, and food safety initiatives.
• Perform hourly metal detector checks for potential foreign material.
• Conduct Critical Quality Point (CQP) checks.
• Perform sensory evaluation of ingredients and finished products.
• Conduct Allergen Control and necessary swab verifications.
• Perform chemical analysis/tests on ingredients and finished goods.
• Record QA verifications and manage QA document controls.
• Conduct microbiological sampling, plating, and results interpretation.
• Perform production process verifications.
• Sample raw material ingredients according to QA procedures.
• Conduct ingredient tanker receiving and sample analysis such as viscosity and Brix.
• Maintain knowledge of Good Lab Practices and manage lab supplies inventory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 1 year of experience in a Quality function or BS in a scientific concentration

Work Environment

• The position is on the 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday working within a fast paced environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Paul,MN.
